Frequently asked questions

Is my data safe? Where does it live?

Babio stores your entries on your device and in your own iCloud private database. The developer cannot read your data, and other Babio users cannot see it. Full details are in the privacy policy.

Why isn't my data syncing to my other device?

Both devices need to be:

  1. Signed in to the same iCloud account (Settings → Apple ID).
  2. Connected to the internet.
  3. Have iCloud Drive enabled.

Open Babio → Settings → iCloud row. The colored dot tells you the current sync state. If the row says Error, the message gives the next step.

How do I back up my data?

Settings → Export My Data → save the JSON file to Files, iCloud Drive, or share it anywhere. To restore on a fresh install, tap Restore from backup on the first screen and pick the file.

How do I delete my data?

A reminder didn't fire / fired too often.

In Babio: Settings → Reminders. You can toggle each category on/off and set the inactivity threshold. If iOS-level notifications are turned off, the Reminders screen shows a footer linking to the system settings.

How do I switch which baby is active?

Tap the baby's name at the top of the Home screen to open the switcher. Add a new baby from there too.

I think I lost data after a TestFlight update.

If your CloudKit private database still has the data, the sync indicator on Settings → iCloud will fill it in within a minute of opening the app. If it doesn't, contact dyncoch@gmail.com with the build number from Settings → About and the approximate date you last saw the data.
